Youth
Young people are a dynamic force for good. We’re more than a century into service, and committed as ever to sustaining our impact over the next 100 years. That’s why we devote ourselves to serving youth as beneficiaries, youth as partners, and empowering youth as service leaders.
We Serve young people
Across all our Global Causes, we remain committed to serving children and youth. Practically, we improve existing programs through the development of new initiatives that increase impact:
We partner with young people
Young people are reinventing service with the help of Lions. We recognize and resource youth as capable service leaders:
- Leos
- Youth Leaders
We unleash youth leadership
Young people are global change makers. Their fresh perspectives and insights drive change in our organization, in their communities and in the world:
Lions International Essay Contest
Created to give an opportunity for visually impaired young people to express their feelings of peace, the International Essay Contest is a staple of Lions clubs around the world. Lions work with local schools and area families to identify young people who are interested in participating and who could benefit from this program. One grand prize winner will receive an award and US$5,000.
With the mission of promoting international peace and understanding, the Youth Camp and Exchange Program (YCE) gives thousands of young people the opportunity to experience life in other cultures and gain a new understanding of the world through travel abroad.
International Peace Poster Contest
For over three decades, Lions clubs around the globe have been sponsoring a very special art contest in schools and youth groups. Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace and inspire the world through art and creativity.
